Spiral Sushi Table


Making the critically sized divider blocks for the pivoting drawers on this table held up this project for quite some time, since I was unsure about drilling eight extremely precise holes with only vague lines for reference. Two weeks making jigs, three hours for milling the four blocks and eight minutes for drilling the holes. Challenging little things, which had to milled to a tolerance of 0.2 mm, (less than .004″) and wood can seasonally move more than that….

These interactive furniture projects can be interesting since one never knows if it will actually function, until ALL the components are complete, and put together.

Well, it does seem to be child proof,       (click to see video   ),       We were very happy with the results!
