This was an interesting little side project from FACL (Fine Arts Conservatory Laboratories) that had the task of remounting a Banksy graffiti art original, that was found on a wooden building in San Francisco not long ago. Graffiti is banned in the city, so the new purpose would be to convert it into a museum display piece that would go on international tour. The wall section was removed from the building, and we proceeded to design a mounting system that was archival: (always keeping in mind of the preservation and reversibility of any construction) into a wall mounted display. This wall was old first growth redwood, maybe 100 years old, so care needed to be taken in the mounting of the work. Aluminum honeycomb panel (found in aircraft construction), and some very specific length screws to fasten the boards to the framework, and the wall art was ready to travel.
