This formal dress is created with naturally figured maple veneer and bamboo fabric, and has a mermaid type appearance. The veneer harness is sewn onto the bamboo fabric and supports 1300 lacquered wood scales allowing it a free range of motion, flexible enough to sit in, comfortable to wear, and shows off the reflective chatoyance of the wood grain as it moves. The back harness joint is hinged to accommodate a variety of sizes, and the dress weighs less than 4 lb. (1.6 kg)
